She has worked in helping professions in each of her career pursuits, as Parent Educator, Psycho-Motor Reeducation, Acupuncturist, and Registered Nurse and now as written Communcaitor of her Story Telling.  Whether the story is historical or created, it becomes a bridge to some level of inner- knowing, or awareness in the listener.  Her life experiences and careers all serve as supports for her story telling.

Born to a second generation Los Angelean family, and mother of four, she seeks to reinforce the 37+ years in  the Buddhist path she follows through her story telling and workshops, and through this to fulfill the wishes of her root teacher, HE Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche.  Haqqika Linda Bridges, is committed to the meaning of her name.....Great Truth Take Care of  Beautiful Bridges.  (root languages are Arabc, Haya (Tanzania, Africa), Spanish, English)  

Regardless of our origin in country or family roots, we all want to be happy where we are, and surround ourselves with live supportive experiences.  Sometimes this goals are hidden beneath hurtful experiences.  Once we begin our heartfelt story our truth reveals itself.  Besides her writing pursuits and storytelling, her work experiences are vast.

Work Experience

  • U.S. Peace Corps Morocco from 1970 to 1972

  • Rehabilitation R.N Drug Treatment Center, and Cardiac Rehabilitation at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital from 1976 to 1980

  • She worked as Psychiatric R.N at Thalians Mental Health Center from 1980 to 1986 per diem

  • Hospice Home HealthCare Agency from 1982 to 1984

  • Oriental Medical Doctor/Acupuncturist in private practice from 1983 to 1990

  • Parent Educator at Los Angeles Unified School District from 1987 to 2009 then retired

  • Programmer for KPFK Radio on the program "Dancing Wellness" 

 

Education

  • Student of Modern Dance at Lestor Horton Dance Theatre  from 1952 to 1959

  • She studied and graduated from L.A. County School of Nursing in 1976

  • She earned her O.M.D. and Ph.D. at Samra University in Los Angeles in 1983

  • Received her Adult Education Credential in  Parent Education from CSLA in 1987
